My friend have hp dv8 laptop. He brought it to me not working, and ask me to fix it if i can... I check the charger adapter and find to be faulty...it was shorting the laptop. I replaced the charger and found that the adapter demaged cpu and now cpu is dead. I found new cpu i7-740 from ebay, bought it and latop started working. The thing is that after maybe half houer of work the laptop start the funs really loud, then it shuts down by itself. Till that time i checked with everest the temperatures were fine. When i try to turn it again it usually will not detect the hard drive...and from bios it will turn off again in couple of minutes. So i am not sure is it maybe cpu again, maybe someone sold defective cpu on ebay, or it is motherboard that is damaged also? someone please help were to start? thx |

It is not overheating, i checked in everest few times before laptop shutdown...... the temperatures of gpu and cpu core are below 60 C. All is hapening in like 10 seconds...the fans start really loud then shuttdown. |
