Hi all, Merry Christmas to all of you! Best wishes to you and your families! Now, the question :) I have Acer 5741G, Compal LA-5891P, Core i3-330, Ati HD5470, 4GB memory. First problem - notebook power on, but no picture, no post. Reball the gpu fix this problem. Now, turn machine on, it works 4-5 minutes and shutdown by itself. It happens in bios, in windows, in dos (hiren's boot). This is what i did: - check all temperature - they're normal. - swap memory (on both dimm's separately) - test with and without HDD - same problem. - test only on external display - same problem - remove ODD, usb board, wifi... - same problem.... - heatsink doesn't become hot. Thermal grease and pad has been replaced with new. I doubt in some capacitors near gpu, which are 0.1uF, 1uF and replace them, but with no result. Does anybody have this problem? |

replace the GPU will solve the problem. |

I think that too, but gpu is not cheap, that's the reason I would like to see other opinion. Thanks, I will wait for some other answers, and I offer gpu replacement. |

by reball the gpu, usually the problem is the laptop will turn off by itself, usually I make the fan always on in maximum speed(but a bit noisy) to solve this problem. |
