Hi everyone,

I'm new member and also not very experienced so please be patient with me :)

So I have this laptop, it's actually CyberpowerPC Fangbook 4th gen of Intel CPU, but the problem is that I got no power.

1st time I plugged it in I've got 2.2V on battery outputs and 2.6V on power switch, he refused to power on or charge of course. I found TPS51125 getting really hot when plugged in. I removed it and found shourt to ground pins 1, 6, 7, 11, 16, 20 and 24 :S
TPS seems to be OK by itself.

With TPS51125 removed I plugged it again and now bloody protection from power supply killed the voltage on DC IN but I found that pins 1, 6, 20 and 24 are not shorted anymore :D

Anyways, now I found AO4932 to be shorted and replaced it with FDS 6900AS. Ok now the pin 16 is not shorted anymore, but still 7 and 11 are which should be 3.3V output from TPS51125.

Now when I plug it on mains, power supply is not killing voltage anymore but TPS51125 is getting hot again and voltages on battery is 0.6V, same on power switch. Obviously something on 3.3V rail is shorted but I have no idea what could it be. I cannot find schematics for that motherboard anywhere and like I said I'm noob in all this stuff. It's really confusing for me to found the solution, specially without schematics.

One more thing, I brought 3V from external supply to 3V rail with 10 ohm resistor in series and could not find anything getting hot besides resistor itself :D

If anybody could help me I would really appreciate it!

Thanks :)

Hi, just some advice,
Never Ever remove the PWM Controller IC and then plug in the power Supply or attach the battery.
This can seriously destroy your Board because the Gates of the Mosfets are then often left floating and can switch the 20V from your power supply directly to the corresponding low voltage rails. If you still want to test the system with the controller removed, also remove the corresponding Mosfets.
