hi, have an ASUS R510V with X550VX motherboard that bots only when charger is connected and no cmos battery is present. (main battery also disconnected)

Two months ago the ITE8995 was replaced because +3VA_EC has a low resistance and ITE temperature was high.

After replacement the ITE8995, all was function properly.

Now in comes back again with a short-circuit and the audio chip damaged.

The audio chip have been replaced and now power button has a weird behavior, only the power led works but there are no more sings of live.

PWR_SW_ goes low, but PM_PWRBTN_ keeps at hi level all the time. Only when forced PM_PWRBTN_ to low, the boot start an all seems ok.

It works ok when boots without batteries as described above, or resenting RTC voltage. (boots windows and image and sound are ok, also sleep function works ok)

I have tested a good bios dump and also reprogramming the ITE firmware.

I would to know if it is a pch related issue or the ITE chip is damaged another time.

It is a weird issue, but perhaps someone faced up with this issue and can help me.

Could the audio chip inject some voltage to pch and pch gets damaged?

Yes, seems it is the most logical.

By the way, all the dumps i have extracted from all bios updates for this board from Asus website, have the same content.

I have replaced de multi-controller one more time, and now all works properly.

Now I can power it on with power button, with cmos and main battery connected. (of course also without it and with charger)

It really surprise me that the first micro-controller failed so early in time, and at te same time as the audio chip.
