Hi guys!

The keyboard is not working. The customer tried other keyboard, too.

I checked +5VS -> OK and also flashed IO firmware with Vertyanov. Still the keyboard does not work.

No shorts measured on KBD connector pins.

Please advise!

BR,
Giorgo

KBC, firmware. If there is a keyboard controller, then the matter may be in it or in its firmware

Hi there! Does this laptop have a power button on the keyboard? Perhaps the new keyboard is defective. Try another keyboard :-):

Check the VCC on IT8171FN-56, SM and USB data lines, resistors and etc.

this motherboard has two controllers. Vertyanov targets the 128kb (IT8995VG) and read/write is successful. How can I use Vertyanov for IT8171FN-56?

some solution is here but still does not explain how to write IT8171FN-56.

maybe we can help more people with this solution. thank you for your precious time.

Did you try https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/G ... ER1030.zip
? It's kb adjustment tool for this model. If it wont work, extract FW_NK0003000B with 7zip and flash thru vertianov.
pins:
KB_pins=30 LEFT DOWN FLASH=56 PD0=29 PD1=20 PD2=15 PD3=23 PD4=14 PD5=16 PD6=12 PD7=30 BUSY=26 STB=18 AFD=28 INIT=21 SLIN=19 KSI4=22 KSI5=24

thank you both for your replies. I am obliged.

so far I flashed 128kb file through keyboard connector J3101 which is wrong yes?? I must flash 56K file using the J3101 keyboard connector?

Today I will try the program first and then check again with Vertyanov.

I also do not know how to use jdebug2 connector for 8995... much of a noob me.

Yep. Flash it to 8171 through J3101.

You no need to flash 8995 yet.

I tried the software but says no compatible device found "Searching USB device, Not found, Retry"

I will now use Vertyanov but:

the FW_NK0003000B firmware is 56kb and the file you attached is 2.5MB... what should I flash through J3101?

ok I found a problem!

I flash the 56K file FW_NK0003000B to IT8171 but the EC rom does not write the data. When I read back its empty! And of course Vertyanov says "Data is not the same" when verifying.

BUT the IT8171 is detected properly by Vertyanov. Is IT8171 damaged??

I use this setting:

GL502VM KB_pins=30 LEFT DOWN FLASH=56 PD0=29 PD1=20 PD2=15 PD3=23 PD4=14 PD5=16 PD6=12 PD7=30 BUSY=26 STB=18 AFD=28 INIT=21 SLIN=19 KSI4=22 KSI5=24
