I had this laptop broken plastics..replaced the upper housing (keybaord and touchpad) with gl552jx model. The keyboard is working but no backlight (maybe damaged cable) and touchpad not working. I tried reinstall drivers and everything but its not working...in device manager there is no touchpad, also fn+f9 is not working (not showing anything)..asus smart guesture will not install...error installing. So i thought maybe touchpad broken, i used similar from asus x552 but its not working also. The ribbon cable seems fine. i used multimeter and measure continuity on ribbon cable and it is ok, voltage is also reading on touchpad... Any other ideas? Could it be motherboard problem? but only with touchpad? Oh, i didnt flash the bios because the battery is dead. |

You may have the touchpad off in the BIOS. Verify. |

i find it in bios but its on... |

Is there any way i can flash bios without battery on this asus? thank you! |

On some new notebooks TouchPad work only under Windows 10. Check on Win 10 first. |

i installed win 10 and linux but its not working...tis problem is either in the bios or it8595 |
