Hi this laptop came working perfectly in Bios/Dos but hangs/freeze on loads, like loading the OS or trying to boot from any media that will put some load on the system.. I've 100% confirmed it's a CPU power problem because disabling intel speedstep or enabling overclocking capabilities option in the bios will lead to a no display startup till resetting bios settings.. I've disassembled the laptop and found burning marks on PL501 inductor and PU502 "SiC632CD" isn't perfectly aligned/soldered, so it looks like the laptop came from a failed repair attempt, I don't know if they replaced PU502 before or it was just waved.. I'll replace all of them and replace PL501 inductor but my question is: - I have a bunch of NCP302045 chips, are they compatible and can replace SiC632CD ? - If not, are SiC631 compatible ? I'm a bit confused in the datasheets here's a photo found on the web with identical problems on the same platform with the same burnt/failed PL501 inductor ! looks like it's a common thing on this platform: sorry can't add images, here is a link: https://i.redd.it/cvt4wwlcvcy11.jpg I'll post mine soon |

Oh wait... Surprisingly under the microscope I've found broken solder connections everywhere on all 5 SiC632 chips at the CPU and all 4 chips at the video graphics ! removed all of them, cleaned and refreshed all the pads and chips and put them back, replaced burned PL501 and the system loads perfectly problem solved, but will keep this topic opened to answer the compatibility question |
