hi! some time ago i try rewiring data pairs, my objetive is get x8!
my experiment board is a 2060.
this was a result:
cut 1 - 4 pairs (8 lanes) and move 5-8(from gpu) to the 1-4 (to pci) front and back, result x4.
now 5-8 on PCI unconected, so i move 9-12 (from gpu) to 5-8 pci. and still x4.

new try:
cut 1st pair, move 2nd pair from gpu, to 1st pair pci. = x1 .
cut 2, 3 & 4 pairs, and move 5, 6 7 from gpu to 2, 3 and 4 pair of pci = no recognize.

this experiment was and idea viewing the pci express data lane, x1 , x4 , x8 , x 16 .
i move the first lane of x4 to x1, the other 2 pairs of x4 (in total got 3) i dont use, that why i move the first 3 pairs of x8 to the empty space of the x4 slot.

now i got a 3070 with the first data lane of the rear side of the board, OpenLine. so i want to rewire to get x8, but first will try in the 2060..
any help? o suggest?

edit: i test 3070 in AM3 platform and it recognize in x8 2.0 pci.
what amd does? check 1-16? and if anything is wrong, check 16-1 ??
so rewire 16-1 15-2 14-3 13-4 12-5 11-6 10-7 9-8 ????? to get x8? nvidia 3070

x4 is maximum you will get with this method...there are a some videos around youtube which explained this more or less. AMD based computers can basically use any of lines to recognize card, but INTEL uses only first pair. It is best to limit use of this card to AMD one, or eventually try with reflow/reball of gpu.

the chip was reballed to check the pads. this not a solution.
i only get x4, cant find how to do it x8.. and thats my objetive so customer can use it on intel o sell if he wants.
i saw some videos but no one show the x8 results... any light>?
