Hi, The WLCSP (BGA) chip solder pads are not getting solder balls on them, I soldered thin insulated wire to the pads on the motherboard and now trying to attach a normal 208mil SPI BIOS chip to the wire, some advice on my terminations. I have tried but the machine doesn't turn on, though 3.3v is present at PP3V3_SUS. Regards. |

Hi, i recently come across the same issue and i ended up in ordering the same chip after a few attempt and comparing the pin out, i was using the same pin assignment as yours at first and realised that i was wrong when i followed the schematic; this worked when i tried to get the new purchased chip recognized by my programmer pin 19 should connect to pin 5 and pin 16 should connect to pin 2, give it a try and let me know, i'm currently still stuck with a proper dump since the original chip is faulty and i couldn't find any working dump on the net |

Hi. BGA SPI chips are simply flipchip and mirrored versions. I resolved troble with dead uefi chip by changing to simple SOIC8. The first pin of SOIC8 corresponds to highest pin number of BGA. I have a dump of 244 MLB, but ME is dirty. This is my solution: |
