Hi everyone, the above mentioned laptop cannot charge beyond 7%. I have changed PU4,PQ9,PQ47 but still no change. I've also changed battery. What else should I check? |

Hi. Maybe You can check PU4 PIN16, battery voltage control, in charging mode. Voltage can not be more than 12.6 (for 3 battery cels). And PIN4, internal 4.096V voltage reference. PU4 is bad if REF is different. Next important PIN 15, is Output-Voltage Limit Set Input. http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/datashe ... 0322_1.pdf |

Hi Rimas, thanks for the reply. I have changed PU4 and still no difference and the voltages on pin4 is 4.1v with charger inserted and 0v on battery. Pin15 is 5.39v with charger and 0v on battery. Pin16 is 19v with charger and 12.08v on battery. Anywhere else I should check? |

Yes, voltages is ok. Maybe communication via SMBUS, resistors, PR74, PR144, and MBDATA MBCLK ? Because SMBUS connected to other devices, it is difficult to understand the direction of communication without I2C bus analyser... |

Maybe You can get 100% working battery? I thik it is battery fault. |

Well I tried with a brand new battery and changed the KBC but still no effect so I have given up. Thanks for all the help. |
