Hi everyone, this old laptop came to me with password [stringent security] issue and after swapping bios chip, password was removed and I found out the South-bridge needed re-balling [smart-card error issue]. After re-balling, laptop charging led blinks six times and then restarts. I want to know if anyone has encountered this issue and how it was solved. I suspect South-bridge but i want confirmation...

I don't see what charging LED blinking, sorry. charging LED blinking - problem with Power. |

I totally agree with you that it is a power issue because I just realized that there is no voltage on coil L29 [+VCCP] and L26 [+VCC_CORE], but everything was okay before the re-balling.All components around the South-bridge are okay. I will like to know if there are some signals I can check to verify whether the problem is from South-bridge or elsewhere. |

Hi everyone, after going through a lot of ordeal due to the client threatening me to either fix the motherboard or replace the laptop...  , i realised the problem was lack of PWR_GOOD_3 due to reduced output from Q34 [voltage drop from +V3s to +V2.1s], so replacing Q34 solved the issue...
