Update bios on the programmator. If RSMRST# zero too - replace EC.

Dear Sir,
Thanks for your quick reply. I checked the components around PD12 and PD13 and they are fine. nothing wrong with them.
someone told me that this +12ALW supply can be low in the starting and will become +12V only after the laptop has booted up........ as per him this +12V can not be reason behind the DEAD laptop.
But, when i see page no 43 of the schematic, (Discharge/3VS5/5VS5) its hard to believe that +12V is not needed. Because MAINON, SUSON, S5_ON............. etc all are connected to this +12VALW. so, i am not sure about the role of +12VALW supply at startup.
Secondly, the rsmrst is 0V when the power button is not pressed. when the power button is pressed, rsmrst becomes 2.8V for half a second but then again falls down to 0V. I think there is some short etc due to which the supply shuts down itself as safety mechanism.
I request you to kindly guide me about the possible reason behind this .
Regarding the BIOS, the pin 1 is low. is it a corrupt BIOS or possibly bad EC.
Please guide about this so that i can reach the fault by measuring voltages stage wise...
many thanks for taking interest in my problem.... written not in your language....
really appreciate this.
thanks again

v1406 писал(а): sir before replacing EC i want to be doubly sure that that EC is faulty. If RSMRST# not work properly - is bad EC or bad SourthBridge. Therefore I offer program Bios, replace EC. Otherwise replace SourthBridge.
