New Original Dell Battery and battery cable were replaced, the bios sees the battery as non dell and will not charge. The charger is detected ok. I have updated to the latest bios from the Dell website, also re soldered the battery connector on motherboard. The laptop posts this screen upon boot. The laptop will boot from battery but not charge. I have tried booting with just the charger and shutting down then connecting the battery and rebooting but still the same.

If it lights with the battery but not with the charger i would suspect of the MOSFET PQ705
Because if the charger is detected

HI it works wit the charger or the battery, just wont charger the battery as it thinks its not original Dell

Check this MOSFET PQ705 that is not short-circuited also check that they are arriving pulses to the gate of the mosfet pin 1,6 with the osiloscope to know if it is the PQ705 or the charger circuit that does not work

Yes service tag is correct. I have tried the various dumps on here and all just black screen no post.

I dont think its an issue with this as unless the system sees the Dell battery as original it will not charge therefore the charging ic wont pulse the charging section fet. I might change the charging Ic as the identification is done through the smbus data correct?.

Im kind of leaning to the bios as an issue tho.

I bought another New Original Dell battery and its the same issue.Any ideas? Anbody got a confirmed working bios I can use?

Im just getting back to this now. any more ideas. It will work on battery or charger but says the Genuine Dell battery is not Original and it will not charge it. The Service tag is present and ok.
