Hello guys I got gtx 1060 zotac Amp and it is not detected by computer, i tried to measure mosfets and on gates of memory mosfet there was no resistance, and i saw that i have missing driver i thing with a little bit of broken legs. So my question, what driver could I use? I have one from 1070 zotac mini but I don't know that it will be good (on photo). And do you have some idea how to repair that broken legs?

on the very similar board of gtx 1080 mini the same 7J=3J richtek RT8816A is used in U27.

And according to https://www.richtek.com/assets/product_ ... 16A-06.pdf it seems that all damaged legs are required - thet are needed even in single-phase setup. (same RT8816A is found on cards with 2 memory power phases and with one memory phase too).

So you have to carefully repair them and place working RT8816A to repair memory power.

This zotac 1060 gddr5x card you have in hands is quite rare, and it seems hard to find any photos of it's PCB on the internet.
Could you plase make a photo of overall PCB? It may be very useful for somebody, and for me it is interesting what number of power phases are actually populated and what GPU marking it have (1060 with gddr6x isn't a common thing). Thanks!

But as i see in datasheet i don't need phase 2 and lgate 2, am i right? Only phase1, lgate1 and PVCc from broken legs.

It is NOT obvious from zotac 1080 mini photo if 1 or 2 phases are actually used for memory power (is it 4gpu+2mem or 5gpu+1mem system) You should measure coils/mosfets and determine mem phase count

Ok i left unsoldered phase2 pin and lgate 2 pin and card still not raise voltage, is it necessary?

Lgate 1 and ugate 1 is connected to mosfet and not existing mosfet (for second mosfet place on pcb). Low gate on mosfet to ground is around 2megaohms and upper gate to ground is around 2kiloohms. The card when i power it only buzzes (only low gate is working?)

Thanks for photos. It looks that GP104-150-KA-A1 is capable driving gddr5x.


From the back photo it looks that card uses 5+1 power schema, so second memоry phase is not used. Hoewer, the PWM may require specific pull-up or pull-down resistor fot them, if they are not connected (it should be documented in the PWMs but currently richtek site is unavailable).


Does it raise other, non-memory voltages? Memory voltage is last or one-tothe-last in the power sequence, so most powers should appear before it.
Do you have 5V (huge linear in the upper-left I think), 1.8V (one of the small coils in the upper), Main gpu voltage (5 phases), and PEX (other small coil in the upper)?

What are resistances in Ohms on those power lines?

Also, for all repaired leads check that they are actually connected to the othe side... The LGATE1 looks a bit strange - has it connection to the mosfet gate?

My bad about mosfet resistances, low gate is 7 megaohms and up gate is 3KiloOhms

1.8v looks working.
But 5v on the big linear regulator is very low. It should be investigated and fixed. Resistence on 5v line should be at least 200Ohms, can be much greater, but not lower. Then main 5phase gpu power. Only after getting them working - you can continue with memory power.

Okay, i checked again with desoldered driver and on 5v regulator is 5.16v and on 1.8v i exactly 1.8v so this is fine, i don't have still GPU voltage and 1v.

And with better multimeter memory resistance is 67ohms but I think it's fine

Ok, i saw on main shim bridge between legs and after resolder that vgpu 0.7v and 1v appeared, but still i don't have memory voltage, checked via oscilloscope low gate and up gate and there is no movement, even replaced driver and the same issue (only low gate and up gate changed to 5megaohms)
