Hello everyone again. I have XFX RX 470 8GB whose memory and core frequency are stuck on 300Mhz and do not change at all. I have checked in GPU-Z and it shows that Power Draw is 150-160 Watts on IDLE. What IC is responsible for measuring the power draw of the chip? I have measured every single resistor near NCP81022 and everything looked fine just like the donor motherboard. I have even changed the NCP81022 but the problem is still the same. Did anyone experience such problem? Please let me know. Thanks

Thanks for the response. The problem is that I have changed NCP81022 as well but still no luck. I have also checked all surrounding resistors, even back side of the gpu. But no luck. I am out of clues.

The hwinfo can be used for some problem localization

Does the lower pane of hwinfo which directly accesses NCP81022 bypassing driver calculation shows the high power at idle for your card?

If not - the problem lies somewhere in the driver or BIOS, not in the NCP81022 itself.
Otherwize, the problem is tghtly related to NCP81022.

Hello I have flashed VBIOS from internet . Now the GPU is boosting memory but not VCORE. only sometimes It boosts but it is lagging alot. I have noticed one thing that it is stuck at PCIE @ 16x 1.1 . I have checked all the capacitors behind and front of the PCIE lane all are looking fine no short nothing. What could be the reason ? . I am attaching pictures of HW Info and GPU-Z.

I have checked that as well it is totally fine. I have compared all the values with donor board all are same. I am out of guess.

Actually I have repaired many gpus with INA3221 problem but in AMD, according to my understanding there is no other IC which checks voltage etc other than NCP81022. I have checked every single resistor near this IC and all are normal. The power draw now rises and decrease but the core clock is not stable at all. I have never seen such case before so I dont know whats wrong with it and where to look since it does not have boardview.



Yes that as well. I will try to check the card again this weekend and update here if I get any success.

I gave an example by analogy. The reason is the same, the implementation is different. Are the all phases working? PLL?

I have checked everything again and again. Everything is working fine. All phases are fine. I have installed 20+ Bios but all of them have same problem of Power usage showing abnormal on idle. I have changed the Resistor which is between inductors of phases. Even changed the 30K Ohm resistor next to NCP81022 to higher but that also did not help. I have started to give up on this card now.
